Crystal Archie – Fulfilling a Dream, One Step at a Time

There are times when giving up feels like the easiest option. Sometimes finding the determination to keep going forward, even through the hard times, can seem difficult to sustain. For Crystal Archie, giving up is always out of the question. She joined Rodan + Fields® as an Independent Consultant almost five years ago, but she readily admits that her success did not come overnight. The first three years were slow, but she made steady progress, and today her efforts have paid off by providing her family a six-figure residual income, tripling her husband’s salary, and making it possible for her to pursue her dream.

At age nineteen, Crystal became a wife and mother. From that time until she reached her early thirties, she was a full-time, stay-at-home mother, and thus had no experience in the job market or a degree to build from. Her husband played football for the NFL, but when he was injured, he was cut from the team. This unexpected loss meant a huge loss in salary, and Crystal’s family found themselves in an unstable financial situation. This happened at a time in her life when she had earnestly began to search for something she could do outside of the home. “Being home with my children is what is most important to me, but I was also desiring personal fulfillment on another level. And now I get the best of both worlds. I get to be at home with my children and be a business owner which provides an incredible income for my family.”

She also knew that she needed to find a way to contribute to her family’s income, but after years of looking, nothing caught her attention until she learned about Rodan + Fields. “I admit that as excited as I was to have found this incredible business opportunity that I could do from home, earn residual income, and be my own boss, I doubted myself.” She recalls that in the middle of telling her husband about the opportunity, she began coming up with a list of excuses why she couldn’t pursue it. She had five children with many after-school and sporting events, she volunteered in her community, and felt that she was far too busy to make it work. But even more significant to her was the fact that she had no job experience. How could she possibly run a business when her only experience was motherhood? “Fortunately, I am married to a wonderful man who also has a great business mind, and is my biggest cheerleader. He told me that if I was persistent, believed in myself, and had a little bit of patience, it would pay off. He was right, and I’m glad I listened, because almost five years later, I am amazed by how far I’ve come. The opportunity has changed our lives and is an answered prayer.”

Crystal’s first three years as an Independent Consultant saw slow but steady progress, and she learned along the way. The six-figure income she earns now has made a remarkable difference for her family, and with five children who all plan on attending college, it is a huge relief not to have to worry about coming up with tuition. But in addition to the financial rewards, Crystal’s Rodan + Fields experience has been an empowering one. She has developed self-confidence, and learned to trust her ability to be her own boss and create something with long-term rewards for her family. Now she can focus more on the mission work that she has dreamed about since childhood. “I used to have all of these dreams that seemed so out of reach to me before I found Rodan + Fields. Now, thanks to my business, I am making those dreams come true. My passion has always been to travel to developing countries to help children without families of their own. Not only have my Rodan + Fields business earnings helped us pay for our son’s adoption, but we also get to sponsor many children and help contribute to bringing orphans home to their new families.” Crystal has even been able to take her own children along on those trips, and share her passion with them without having to worry about the cost. She is able to travel, volunteer, run her business, and still be the devoted mother she always has been. “When people tell me they’re too busy to do this business, I tell them to look at my life, because if I can do this, anyone can.”

Looking back on the last four years and ten months makes Crystal realize how much her life has changed and how thankful she is to have achieved this much personal and financial success. She sees her Rodan + Fields business as a gift, and is grateful to share her story and the business opportunity with others because it has been a tremendous financial blessing for her family. “I was not an overnight success, but I chose to stick with it. There were down days, but I always saw the bigger picture, and I didn’t compare myself to others. I focused on my own family and our own journey, and it may have taken me a few years, but I got here, and I don’t have a single regret. The only thing more exciting than this is to think of where we’ll be five years from now, and how many more lives we will have changed.”
