Dallas Fears – Fearlessly Pursuing the Life She Believes is Possible

Posted by on Thursday, January 14th, 2016

Dallas Fears cherished watching her daughter sprint toward a playground slide and climb the steps with the fearlessness she’d come to be known for. Born without sight, her daughter’s first few years were difficult, but Dallas was consistently inspired by the way she approached life so boldly. There was a time, however, when a fun day at the park wasn’t possible. Overwhelmed with doctors’ visits and a full-time job, Dallas was constantly rushing around and missing out on quality time with her family. Longing for a more flexible schedule, she jumped at the chance to start a new business, determined to create the life she wanted—one she believed was possible with the right opportunity.

Facing a challenge

After college, Dallas pursued a career in dental medical sales and, for the next ten years, she worked as a Sales Representative as well as the national sales trainer for a company in Dallas, Texas. She enjoyed her job and wasn’t looking for additional income, but in the summer of 2012, a neighbor introduced Dallas to Rodan + Fields®. “I had some hormonal acne, and she suggested the UNBLEMISH Regimen. At the time, I didn’t even wash my face, but I decided to do some research.”

The more Dallas learned, the more interested she became in the business aspect. “I thought this opportunity could provide the freedom I was looking for. I needed a way out of the hectic life I was living—trying to balance two young children, a full-time job, and my daughter’s hospital visits.” Dallas’ second child was born blind and, during the first two years of her life, needed to see a doctor over 100 times. She is extremely grateful that, after undergoing 17 surgeries, her daughter is now able to see out of one eye.

In June 2012, Dallas enrolled as an Independent Consultant, confident she’d found an incredible opportunity. “What stood out to me was that the Doctors had been successful before, and I believed they would be again—and this time, I could be a part of it. I saw it as my chance to retire from my job so I could be home with my daughter, providing the specialized care she needs.”

Persistently overcoming

In September of 2012, after the surgeries were complete and life had settled down a bit, Dallas began working her business. “My first year was very interesting because I couldn’t share what I was doing on social media. It was considered a conflict of interest by my employer. So, I had to find other ways to share my business—whether it was on the phone or in person during my off time—I made it work.” In January of 2013, she achieved Level V, working ten hours a week around her full-time job. That summer, she’d replaced enough of her income that she was able to retire in order to stay home with her children.

In May of 2015, Dallas had her third child and, two months later, she achieved RFX Circle, working 16 to 20 hours a week. “It just goes to show that this business truly can be built around a very full schedule. I had no experience owning a business and knew nothing about skincare, but the Company provides impressive training, and I had so much support from my team, TEAM FEARLESS. I’ve also learned that you don’t have to be a salesperson to be successful; you just have to actively share an incredible opportunity with others.”

Conquering obstacles

Dallas loves that she now has complete control of her schedule. “There is nothing like working for yourself and being your own boss. Our lives were so hectic, and there was so much stress that it felt like there wasn’t time to just enjoy each other’s company. I now have the freedom to cherish every moment with my baby and attend my kids’ activities and school events, and I don’t have to worry about punching a time clock.”

Dallas sees that an entirely new future is possible now that she has time and financial freedom. “I’m excited about being able to pick up and go whenever we want, whether for vacation or to visit family.” She is also looking forward to expanding the nonprofit that she and her husband started this past year. “When our daughter was born blind, we didn’t have anyone to go to who had been through a similar situation. So, we decided that we wanted to start an organization that would help connect families who have children with special needs. We want people to know that there are others who have gone through what they are experiencing and that there is hope. Being able to give back in this way is such an important part of our own healing process. It gives purpose to our personal journey.”

Empowering action

Moving forward, Dallas is enthusiastic about helping her team achieve their own goals. “I’m so inspired by this community and how everyone is more than willing to help one another. I’m so honored to collaborate with such supportive people. This business model is truly about empowering each other, and that has become my favorite part. Having a way to help others fulfill the dreams they have deep within their hearts is the best gift I’ve been given—it’s what motivates me every day.”

Dallas’ business has given her the opportunity to create the life she wants for her family, and she hopes others realize it can change their lives as well. “You achieve what you believe, but too often we allow fear to hold us back. I’ve seen what amazing things are possible, and that inspires me to continue pursuing this opportunity with a fearless attitude. I encourage others to do the same. Don’t allow yourself to be held back from what you know in your heart you can do. We were all created for greatness, and we need to pursue our dreams with fierce conviction.”
