Dana Zaworski – Live Your Beautiful Life

Posted by Rodan + Fields on Thursday, May 24th, 2018

Dana Zaworski has always considered herself very career-focused. She met her future husband, graduated from Auburn University, and started her career in new home sales all within the same summer. “I loved my career, but I worked every single weekend for about seven years. I missed out on a lot of life. My friends were getting married and having babies and I was missing those events because of my inflexible work schedule. Shortly after John and I got married, I made a career shift to a really cool media director job… but I still wasn’t fulfilled by it.”

Things got tougher when Dana welcomed her first baby into the world. “After having Ben, I jumped back into being a full-time working mom because I thought that’s what I had to do. I was making great money. John and I had become accustomed to our dual income household. But I hated being on the corporate hamster wheel in a cutthroat business; it was really stressful. I vividly remember days when I was feeling stressed and in tears, and then getting up to start the routine all over again the next day. I felt like a bad mom. I had a lot of guilt. I did that routine for a while and I just felt like I couldn’t win.”

Finding her opportunity

In January 2014, opportunity came knocking. Dana’s best friend, Cristina DiMarzio, called to announce she was partnering with the esteemed Doctors to start her own Rodan + Fields skincare business. “She asked if I would do this with her, but at the time I thought she was crazy. I had a lot on my plate, but her life was even busier than mine! I couldn’t believe she would say yes to one more thing. In a loving way, I told her “thanks, but no thanks.” I wished her all the best and didn’t even buy products.”

A couple months later, Cristina tried to talk business again. This time Dana was receptive. “I’m so grateful to her because when she reached back out to me I felt like something important was tapping me on the shoulder. I listened to everything she had to say, asked a lot of questions, did a three-way call with Jessica Edwards, and attended an event here in Atlanta. That night I called John and told him I had to do this.” With John’s earnest encouragement, Dana purchased the largest business kit and got started on her new beautiful life.

Her changing “why”

Soon after Dana welcomed her second child into the world, her business goals changed significantly. “In the beginning, I didn’t take my business as seriously as I should have. I kind of treated it like a hobby for the first year or so. But something in me changed when I got pregnant with George. I was burning the candle at both ends to maintain my full-time career and my R+F business, and I realized this is not the life I wanted to live. There’s so much more to life than this.”

At that point, Dana started treating her business more like a business. “I wanted nothing but to be a mom, to be present, and to not miss out. But being very career-focused, I knew I still needed something to work toward. I knew I also needed something for me. I saw what other Consultants were able to do with their business earnings, and in that moment my “why” transformed. I felt that my R+F business was the vehicle to get me where I wanted to be.”

Choosing to live well

Knowing what she had at her fingertips with her R+ F business, Dana decided to increase her efforts to 15-20 hours per week. With hard work, Dana made the decision to leave corporate America in January 2018.   “My R+F business gave my family options, to the point where it made sense for me to walk away from my full-time career. Looking back at my journey I feel like all of these pieces were orchestrated perfectly together for my family. The fact that I could build a business while doing a job and balancing the kids. My business was at the point where I was able to take that leap of faith. Now I feel like I have the best of both worlds. I have that non-negotiable precious time with my babies and I also have something for me.”

That moment she decided to treat her business like a business, in January 2018, things really took off for Dana. “I was being coachable. I was following the system and doing everything my Upline leaders told me to do. I had my second baby, and shortly after that, I hit Level V. Things have been going remarkably well ever since. My mom always says ‘You don’t get a do-over in life. This is it. You’ve got to live this beautiful life and live it well.’ Thanks to R+F, I’m pursuing the life I so desperately wanted.”

Balancing dual passions

Dana has managed to combine two of her greatest passions in her Rodan + Fields career. “First, I love giving people the gift of confidence through these transformative products. There’s nothing better than having a Preferred Customer reach back out to you with great news about the changing appearance of their skin. I’m also passionate about helping those around me see that with hard work they can have anything they want. That’s what this business is about: helping other people realize the gift that they have in their hands, helping them catch the vision, and see that the life they dream of could be there for them if they want it and are willing to work hard.”

“The best part is, I know what this business has done for me — and that this is a gift that keeps on giving. I’m so passionate about giving back. This business is so much more about other people, how we can serve them, and how we can help them. And when I’m surrounded by the most incredible people I’ve ever known in my life, it’s amazing to watch this whole thing unfold for the impeccable members of my team, Team JOY. I’m excited for them and so grateful for what they’ve already been able to accomplish. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for them.”

Sending encouragement

With such a fantastic community around her, Dana is incredibly excited about her future with Rodan + Fields. “I get goosebumps when I think about the future. This is such an amazing opportunity and there’s nothing like it in the world. Rodan + Fields is helping women and men create lives that we’ve always dreamed of. I’m most excited for my team and those that have not even taken that leap of faith yet — the people that a month or a year or two years or ten years from now are going to be introduced to this opportunity. This business can be whatever you want it to be. It’s been a huge blessing for me and my family, and I want to continue to bless and inspire others and to give back. You don’t get a do-over. This is it. And with R+F, my brain just spins when I think about all the amazing things I’ll be able to do in the future to serve other people.”
