Elizabeth Jarvis – Bring Your Best by Being Yourself
Friday, January 10, 2014

Elizabeth Jarvis considers herself to be a natural introvert, but she is far from timid. In fact, despite her quiet personality, she is a high achiever and devoted mentor. “My main goal in life is to help people reach their maximum potential.” After teaching and directing a national education center, she retired from her position to be a stay-at-home mom during her husband’s baseball career. But she never retired from coaching people to be their best, and she continues to counsel and support people at every opportunity.

“My efficient, sensitive nature makes me feel highly disappointed when I see people wasting time, talent, and energy when they could be accomplishing so much more.” When she heard about a business opportunity with Rodan + Fields®, she saw it as a chance to become part of a growing Company that provides a nurturing environment and encourages personal growth. Motivated by her desire to coach others toward success, she joined Rodan + Fields as an Independent Consultant over five years ago.

True to her nature, Elizabeth never felt the need to become more extroverted to get results. She leverages her quiet personality to build her business, and encourages others with more introverted personality types not to shy away from this opportunity. “This business model is based on relationships. Introverts are perfectly suited to this because we tend to be great listeners, and that is a wonderful skill to have.  You don’t have to change who you are to become successful at this; you simply need to find your own personal strengths and use what works best for you.”

She shares the business with all types of people, from the very shy to the most boisterous of personalities. Over the years, she has watched many Consultants find their unique niche while achieving personal growth and building their confidence. “Personal growth is important and this business model encourages that, but it’s important to realize that it doesn’t come about the same way for everyone.” By staying connected with each other, she and her teammates all use their individual skills to support each other, and much like a baseball team, every member’s performance contributes to the overall victory.

As the spouse of an athlete, Elizabeth understands that we all need to be coached in some way. Daily discipline and practice are the ingredients that shape great athletes, business leaders, or any other professional. Having someone to guide and cheer you through makes the daily effort much easier. “Even the most talented athletes have been mentored by special people who have challenged their minds and bodies to bring every last bit of themselves to the court or playing field.” She uses her talent of connecting with others to help encourage people to reach their best level of performance, both with their Rodan + Fields businesses and in life in general. “So many of us fall into a routine and forget to challenge ourselves. I love to show people that they can do so much more than they thought they were capable of. My business gives me the opportunity to help people surprise themselves with their own abilities, and I am honored to be able to be that kind of mentor.”

Elizabeth uses the strategies her husband once used on the baseball field to continue to grow her Rodan + Fields business and help others do the same. She advises people that in order to be successful at this or any endeavor, there are key principles to follow. Practice daily, bring forth your best effort, and clear your head of negative thoughts and emotions. She also stresses the importance of allowing yourself to be coached, and never stop learning and growing as a person. And above all, always remember to stay true to yourself and know your own strengths.

“One of the reasons I’m so excited about the opportunity to be a Rodan + Fields Independent Consultant is that the Company has done all the heavy lifting. By infusing their brand and powerful reputation into this business model, normal people like me are able to leverage the power of teamwork and brand credibility by best utilizing the strengths and experiences we have in our own lives.”
