Julie Strople – Saying Yes to the Gift

Posted by Rodan + Fields on Wednesday, November 22nd, 2017

Julie Strople, a busy CPA, started using the Rodan + Fields® products in November of 2013, after seeing friend Linda Kowalski’s results on social media. “I reached out to her, because at that point I looked in the mirror and realized I needed to do something to help with my really dull skin. I loved her ‘after’ photos, so I started using REDEFINE™ and REVERSE™ right away.” Four months later, Julie was facing tough circumstances and the surprising need to re-evaluate her life.

After experiencing strange abdominal pain, Julie was shocked to find herself diagnosed with kidney cancer. “It was total luck that they found the tumor—my doctor said I was about six months from being terminal. I had surgery two weeks later. I was always stressed out with work and missing out on too much time with my family. I knew I couldn’t do it anymore. I was determined to make a change.”

Starting anew

When Linda first suggested the Rodan + Fields business to her in the beginning, Julie gave a pretty hard “no” in response. “Working behind a computer and crunching numbers for my entire career, I figured skincare and sales were too far outside of my comfort zone.” Her brush with cancer, however, made her take a second look. “I just couldn’t get the idea out of my head. What if this opportunity had fallen into my lap right then for a reason?” With her changing priorities, Julie decided she was ready to try something new. “I jumped in as an Independent Consultant in February 2014, and it has literally been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for me and my family.”

Beginning in the heart of tax season, Julie started to work her new business into her busy schedule. “Even with my limited hours, I worked incredibly hard and managed to earn my investment back and hit Executive Consultant that first month—and I never went back.” Now, as a Premier V and working at least 15 hours per week, Julie has retired completely from the accounting firm. She laughs, “I still do some accounting and tax work from home, but mostly just to keep up my license and to help pay taxes on my R+F business. It’s interesting how that worked out!”

A positive change

Julie’s newfound time freedom has transformed nearly every aspect of her life. “My husband Pete had always encouraged me to work for myself, but I used to be afraid I couldn’t do it on my own. The R+F opportunity pushed me to say ‘why not?’ Over time as an entrepreneur, I’ve become more confident, way less stressed, and more available for my family.” Julie aims to help take some of the family’s financial burden off of Pete’s shoulders with her new career.

She’s also determined to spend more valuable time with her loved ones. “Before R+F, I could never go on winter or spring vacations with our family. My husband and the kids would fly someplace awesome and I’d be stuck at work doing taxes. But now, because of the hard work I put into my Rodan + Fields business, I feel like I can finally say yes to the things that are asked of me! I can be the PTA mom, go on field trips, and volunteer as much as I want. I remember the first field trip I went on with my daughter, and she was so happy to have me. It was worth it right there. I know the clock is ticking before all the kids are out of the house, and I’m dedicated to pouring into them as much as I can.”

Appreciating the perks

Julie’s also been amazed by the Incentive Programs that her new business offers. “I’m always so impressed with R+F. I get prizes in the mail all the time for achieving goals with my R+F business, and it totally blows me away every time. My husband and I earned all-inclusive trips to both Banff and Scottsdale through Lead the Way, and each trip was absolutely phenomenal. It was on my bucket list to go to Banff at some point in my life anyway, and before Rodan + Fields I didn’t know when my husband and I would be able to sneak away on a trip like that. It was just so fun to be treated like royalty, down to the very last detail!”

Julie loves her R+F family, Team eleVate, and enjoys empowering them to make their dreams as big as they can. “My team members are super motivated, everybody gets along really well, and I think they’ve truly caught the vision that I have. And it’s been so fun to reconnect with people from all different parts of my past through this business. That’s one thing that I didn’t anticipate at all—just how awesome the friendships would be!”

Sharing the gift

Above all, Julie is grateful for the passion that R+F has brought back into her life. “When Linda presented the idea to me in the first place, I had my CPA blinders on. But I’m so glad that I made the decision to say yes. I have so much faith in the Company, I love the products, and I look at this opportunity as a gift. Whether it’s helping people with their skin or helping them find a different path for their future, I’m passionate about sharing the gift of Rodan + Fields with as many people as possible.”

“I see my business continuing to grow, and I have faith that it’s going to keep blossoming. Because this opportunity is for everyone—your education, age, gender, or sales background honestly doesn’t matter. If you’re hungry for some sort of change in your life, like I was, this can be the vehicle for you.”

  1. Your story just reconfirm my decision to take the leap-or the “What If…..”. I’ve always been a think things thru, run everything thru various scenarios, blah, blah, blah. Initially, wanted to support my cousin and than just said “Go for it girl”. Time it is moving on. Don’t be left behind. So glad I did,
