Kelly Graven – Doing More With Her Career

Posted by on Thursday, September 28th, 2017

Kelly Graven’s Rodan + Fields® journey began in January of 2015 when she spoke with a girlfriend from college. “Mallory Bryson shared the products with me, and I was really intrigued.” As a registered nurse and mother, Kelly wasn’t really looking for any additional responsibilities, but she did want to give this new opportunity a chance.

“I’d just had my second child and had some skin discoloration, so I was excited to try the REVERSE™ Regimen. At the same time, I had been watching Mallory’s business and saw how much fun she was having, bringing in supplemental income with R+F.” So Kelly got underway soon after that conversation, both becoming an Independent Consultant and trying the products simultaneously.

“Within just a few weeks I was seeing changes in my skin’s appearance! It took about a month for other people to start asking what I was doing differently, and that’s when I knew these products were the real deal. The testimony of the Doctors and the strength of our brand encouraged me, and I knew that this business was going to take off.”

Building a community

As a testament to her belief, Kelly worked at least 10 hours per week and achieved Level V just seven months into her business. “Over my first year, I brought on countless Customers who loved the products and then became Consultants themselves. They saw how powerful the products were and knew what the business could mean for them and their families.”

Formed by Kelly’s enthusiasm, Team Serendipity quickly expanded across the United States, Canada, and just recently, Australia. “I’m most passionate about empowering and inspiring others. One of the things I love most about Rodan + Fields is that it’s not just a ‘me’ business—it’s a ‘we’ business. We run for and achieve goals together, and anyone in this group of strong men and women has the chance to be successful. Seeing the impact this business has on their lives is the driving force that inspires me to keep going and push forward.”

Seeing the benefits of her hard work

Kelly’s business has also created a positive shift for her family. “Around the time that I first got involved with R+F, my husband Andrew wasn’t happy in his existing career. He watched my business grow, and going to 2016 Convention in Las Vegas really secured his belief in the Company.” A few months afterward, Andrew was able to walk away from his job and start his own custom furniture company.

Kelly explains, “I’m so glad that through Rodan + Fields I was able to get him out of his corporate position so he could find enjoyment and passion in his career and be more present with our family. The additional income has allowed each of us to do more with our careers, and to get to the point where we can start doing more and giving more to others.”

Engaging in medical service

Fellow Consultant Amy Cassidy inspired Kelly to give back in an even bigger way. “Amy had gone with a group of other R+F Consultants to Sierra Leone for a service trip. Her journey inspired me to serve, and I already knew I wanted to get involved with medical missions.” In April of 2017, Kelly went along on her first medical service trip. “Once I was in Africa, I knew this is exactly what I want to be doing with my nursing career. I knew what I had done with R+F allowed me to be in Africa, and I knew if I could do more with my business, I could give more.”

When Kelly returned from this transformative experience, she was ready to make a change. “I did not want to retire from nursing altogether, but at that point I realized that Rodan + Fields allows me to give and do more without being confined to the hospital. At that time, I was able to walk away from my 12-hour shifts. I was finally able to be present with my family and give back in a way I hadn’t done before. I found my passion again!”

Dreaming up new goals

Kelly’s drive to give back spurred her on to achieve Premier V, to volunteer at a local free clinic each week, and to lead her team in local philanthropy. She plans on going on other service trips in the future and bringing her young family into the world of generosity. “Our biggest goal is to stay grounded and to be present with our two children. We want to instill in them a strong work ethic. I want them to see that we can work hard and be successful, but we can also give to others. With Rodan + Fields as a vehicle for change in our family, we’re allowing our hearts to be open to new possibilities.”
