Keyea Webster – Funding Your Dream
Monday, July 7, 2014

What goes through your mind when identifying goals? Setting yourself up to achieve success is a process. Hard work and discipline play a large part in attaining this success, and passion makes a huge difference. Hours of practice go in to learning a concerto on the piano, while quiet mental concentration may precede horse jumping at a grand prix. Beyond the rigors of groundwork and training, many passions require money to pay for lessons or equipment as well. And, unfortunately, despite immense talent or drive, a lack of funds can be the deciding factor on the path to making any dream a reality. Keyea Webster found a way to attain the vision she saw for herself and bring her passion back into her life without sacrificing anything along the way.

Keyea is so grateful that her business has enabled her to bring horses back into her life.

Keyea is so grateful that her business has enabled her to bring horses back into her life.

An equestrian at heart, but unable to fit it into her life, Keyea was worried she wouldn’t be able to ride again. “It’s probably the most expensive hobby one could pick up. It’s a huge part of who I am and I really felt that it was missing from my life. About four months into my Rodan + Fields business, I realized that this could be life changing for me.”

Keyea has worked full time for an oil and gas company in Dallas, Texas for 10 years. “I love my job and am dedicated to it. I’m not trying to replace my job. I joined Rodan + Fields® as an Independent Consultant because a good friend from college was a Consultant and my sister was a Customer. I loved the products and knew they worked, so I decided to enroll and do it as a side project, during my lunch break or after work. I was just going to give it a try because I’ve always liked skincare. I knew the products worked and I loved the Doctors’ story and the business model, so, I figured why not? The worst case scenario would be that I’d have really good skin.”

Keyea didn’t have many expectations going in, but she began experiencing success at a rapid pace, achieving Level V within a year. “Every time I reached a goal, it was so awesome and I was always ready to work for the next thing. I am really driven by the fact that once I achieve one goal, there is always another one to try for. But, I really credit the team’s growth to the products themselves. The growth happens so organically because people use product and like it and then want to tell others about it.”

As a result of her success, Keyea has been able to bring horseback riding back into her life. “I was so happy. Every day I am so thankful and it’s all because of my R+F business.”

Keyea’s life has also been changed through the people she’s met and the friendships she’s made. “I don’t meet a lot of new people at my job, so that’s been a treat, getting to know new people. It’s also taught me how important it is not to judge others because they will often surprise you in good ways. I am so impressed with the things I see people doing with their lives. We are all so busy and when I see the way others are able to work this business into a busy schedule, I am constantly amazed.”

Keyea was especially excited when she earned her Lexus through the Road to RFX Car Incentive Program. She was not only proud of her own accomplishment, but what it meant to her team. “Getting the car was great, but the most important part was that earning it was a testament to the fact that I have a team full of incredible women who are working hard and building their own businesses. And I know that they will be achieving the same goals for themselves. Seeing team members reach what they’re working toward and watching their lives change is the most rewarding part.”

With a business background as an IT consultant before her current job, Keyea is awed by the Rodan + Fields opportunity. “The fact that I’ve been able to grow my business in a short amount of time is remarkable. I don’t know anywhere else that you can start something and just two and a half years later have the kind of business that I have. From a business perspective, I am just constantly impressed with the Corporate Team and leaders and by the quality of the people on my team. I didn’t expect the people that I would meet within this Company to be of such a high caliber. The more I see, the more the vision exceeds my expectations.”

Keyea’s experience has shown her the importance of genuinely believing in what you’re doing. “I feel that sometimes people don’t think their why is good enough. We all need to be honest with why we are doing this and be passionate about it. Two years ago, I never thought I’d be where I am today. I had a dream, but I didn’t know how I was going to make it come true. And then this opportunity came along and because I sincerely believed in the product and the business and I was honest with myself about what I wanted, it’s grown from there.”

Building her business and making it work around her busy schedule without sacrificing her passions is essential to Keyea. “I am making it work with the time I have. No matter what your schedule is, you can fit it in around whatever else you’re doing. I try to focus on the important parts of my life and not let the other stuff interfere. I love that I can do the thing that I am passionate about and not feel stretched. The flexibility allows me to have options, I can still give to charity, travel to compete in horse shows, and have two jobs. Now that I have horses back in my life, my goal is to be on a consistent competition schedule and be able to go to all the shows I want with my horse. And now that I’m here, I’m not going to stop. We’ll compete, move up, and jump higher fences.”

  4. WOW!!!! Keyea is ME!!! I’m an Equestrian at heart, but I don’t get to ride very often and it’s such an expensive hobby… Over and over, and all through growing up, I see myself owning a ranch, owning horses and land, and living my dream of competing. I’m 23 now, and I’ve been doing RF for a 6 months. Very little progress right now, but it will come if I keep pushing forward. THANKS KEYEA!!!!!!!
