Molly Mosher – Limitless Opportunity

Posted by Rodan + Fields on Tuesday, July 17th, 2018

After being a stay-at-home mom for nearly ten years, Molly Mosher discovered a promising way to revive her career. “My cousin Marissa McDonough got me started with the Rodan + Fields products, and I’ve been a consistent REDEFINE Regimen user since day one. She approached me about the business as well, but I felt I had too much going on at that time.” In April 2017, after watching her cousin’s progress and giving the opportunity careful thought, Molly reached back out to Marissa to become an Independent Consultant. “I absolutely loved the products, and really liked the Company. I finally came to the conclusion that I was missing out on a big opportunity and really needed to do this. I just jumped right in.”

Sparking early interest

Molly was amazed at how quickly her social media posts about Rodan + Fields generated excitement. “I realized it was an obvious choice to go into business, because I get compliments on my skin all the time. These products really improve the appearance of your skin and are such a great vehicle for building a business. It wasn’t even a matter of reaching out to people — by just putting it out there that I had started this business, they were coming to me!”

From there, Molly started reaching out to her network on a more personal level and tackled her own internal challenges along the way. “At first it was a challenge to reach out, because I worried about what people might think. But I quickly got over the fear of rejection. You just have to not worry about it and focus instead on being your own boss and figuring out what that looks like. Overall, the process of business building has been really fun. That’s one thing that surprised me about this business — how fun it has been to reach out and reconnect with people that I hadn’t talked to in years.”

The perks of entrepreneurship

Through putting in an average of 15 hours per week, Molly made big strides toward building her family’s travel slush fund, which was her immediate goal. “I wanted to save more discretionary income for our family, and I’ve definitely met that goal now. It raised the bar in my mind as far as what my business can be. My goals now are similar but on a bigger scale, and I want to show my daughter as much of the world as we can. I have so much love for being with my family, for travel, and for that kind of valuable education. R+F is a really cool vehicle for us to do that. At this point, I’ve realized that the opportunity can be limitless.”

Other important benefits of business ownership, from Molly’s perspective, are intangible. “While everyone’s story is different, my R+F business has given me the opportunity to develop my professional identity without having to sacrifice being at every event and being able to care for my daughter. As far as my family’s concerned, they don’t see much of a difference in our daily lives. Everything’s running seamlessly from their perspective, but yet I’m building something on my own that I’m excited about and that I take pride in.”

Building meaningful relationships

Molly is incredibly grateful for the mentors who have helped her achieve these goals, starting with her beloved cousin. “Marissa has been wonderful as a mentor. She is a powerhouse and one of the hardest working people I know. She’s been such a tremendous leader and such a huge help to me, always available, always willing to answer questions, always cheering me on and boosting me up. I couldn’t think of a better person to help train me and cheer me on in this business. I’ve learned from many Rodan + Fields leaders not only how to be a successful business person, but also how to live a life with meaning and value.

“With all of that, this business has become so much more than what I initially thought. For me, it’s more than just an opportunity to make money. It’s about my team members achieving big things for their families because of Rodan + Fields. I have a diverse team in different pockets of the country, and it’s so fun to get involved in their lives on a more personal level and see what they’re hoping to do with their business. It’s really rewarding to help train people and to motivate them toward success. You get the sense that you’re not just doing this for yourself, but for other people as well.”

Looking to the future

Currently a Level III, Molly’s next goal is to achieve Level V and Lexus, ultimately reaching for RFX. “As an R+F Independent Consultant, you see what’s happening at the higher levels and you want to be there immediately. You can get there, but you’ve got to take all the steps along the way. Personally, meeting those Milestones gives me so much pride in what I’m able to accomplish. And when you achieve those Milestones, you know your team is achieving their goals as well. This is about so much more than just me and what I’m doing. Doing this business together gives everything more meaning.”

Molly is passionate about bringing R+F to others who, like she once did, yearn for a better balance between their home life and their career. “Sometimes as a mom, you can get lost when you’re taking care of everybody else and supporting what they’ve got going on. Having something that’s just about you and your work feels so good. While everyone’s experience will be different, Rodan + Fields has given me an opportunity to have both of those things without having to sacrifice one or the other. I’ve built myself a career again in a way that is so fulfilling. It’s all mine and I own the potential. To me, it feels limitless and fits so well into my family’s lifestyle. I love having something that I’m passionate about.”
