Sarah Snell – Working With a Purpose

Posted by on Friday, April 21st, 2017

It’s astonishing how much difference one human life can makeespecially if they’re determined to make their mark by giving back to others. Sarah Snell is passionate about transforming lives in her community and around the globe. She and her husband Ryan both work in ministry, and the couple jumped at the chance to seize a new opportunity that could allow them to make an even bigger impact on the world around them.

Joining a community of giving

Sarah loves working her full-time job, but she was seeking additional income that could not only help provide for her family, but enable them to give more generously to causes they are passionate about. In February of 2015, pregnant with her second child, Sarah decided she would stay home for a full 12-week maternity leave, but she needed to find a way to help make ends meet.

During her search, Sarah happened upon a long-forgotten message from a friend. It was that message that led her straight to the Rodan + Fields® Redefine Your Future blog. She was inspired by Sarah Robbins’ story of making a tangible impact on the world through her business and immediately knew she wanted to do the same.

“I realized that this could be the vehicle for me to impact others’ lives and I might find myself in a position where I could stay at home during my maternity leave and provide for my family. There are Independent Consultants in this business with the same heartbeat as me. They are using the business for more than just themselves and their families. That realization really got me inspired to look more into R+F. We jumped in and haven’t looked back.”

Receiving the help she needed to achieve her goals

In March of 2015, Sarah began working her Rodan + Fields business as a first-time entrepreneur. The type of work was completely new to her, but she worked tirelessly to reach her goals, 10-15 hours per week, even after returning to work following her maternity leave. This dedication led to achieving Level V in May of 2016.

“It was not my dream to be an entrepreneur. I had dreams of doing huge things for our community and for the world, but initially, that dream didn’t involve owning my own business.” To help get her footing, Sarah dove into the R+F training resources and read every bit of research she could find. She was very grateful that “everything you need to run this business is at your fingertips.” Her determination was a powerful driving force, one that helped her achieve success in the long run.

“I have a really full plate, between working full time, working my R+F business, giving back to my local community and being a wife and mother. But that’s what I love about this business: anyone can fit it into their existing lifestyle and it has the potential to be something big if you invest a bit of time into it.”

As an added bonus, Sarah found that she loved using the Rodan + Fields product line. “I had brown spots on my skin after my first pregnancy that really bothered me. It’s really embarrassing because they’re right on your face for everybody to see. I couldn’t wait to try the REVERSE Regimen after I had my last child. These products gave me my glow back.”

Working to help other families

As Sarah’s R+F business grew, her sense of “why” began to grow as well. She and her husband strive to teach their children that there is more to life than their own family’s needs—they not only serve together as a family in their local community, but their reach extends further, from helping adoptive families to providing clean water in Africa. From day one, they committed to giving 20% of Sarah’s Rodan + Fields income to international and local charities and nonprofits.

“We’re doing as much as we can now, giving every month, but we want to help everybody in our area who wants to bring a child home. Giving to adoptive families is really rewarding and you see the result of your actions immediately. We plan to adopt in the future, but in the meantime we’re able to support others who are going through that journey.”

Expanding their reach as they strive to make an impact

As Sarah and Ryan continue to serve others both in their careers and in their free time, they envision Rodan + Fields becoming an even bigger part of their lives. “We have jobs that we love already, but it’s so nice to work by choice. It’s not about the money anymore. It’s about making an impact.”

“I dream of inspiring others to collectively come together and build wells and schools and orphanages, to help families that feel called to adopt do so, to provide shelter to the homeless and refuge for women who are forced into human trafficking. I want to do something that is bigger than myself.” Thanks to Sarah’s dedication to her Rodan + Fields business, they may be well on their way toward achieving that goal.

Her R+F team, Team Life On Purpose, is also active in serving their local community together and giving back in other ways. They’ve even discussed taking an international mission trip as a team so they can expand their impact.

“We want to make an ongoing difference and leave a legacy of change and generosity. I know it sounds like a huge dream, but I know it’s possible with this business. That’s what’s so exciting about Rodan + Fields.”
