Jessica Zuroff – Giving Back With R+F

Posted by on Tuesday, September 26th, 2017

The following story recounts how this Independent Consultant is choosing to give back to her community and the world through her Rodan + Fields® business.

Everyone has what Jessica Zuroff calls “someday when” dreams—the goals we plan to accomplish “someday when” there is more time or when our finances allow. Jessica’s dream was to perform humanitarian work abroad, and as a teacher, coach, and mother, she held a strong passion for giving back to her community. When Jessica was presented with a new career opportunity, she finally found the freedom she needed to make her “someday when” dream a reality.

A freeing introduction

When Jessica was introduced to Rodan + Fields® by Becky Jerome, she had a lot on her plate. “I was a full-time teacher, varsity basketball coach, and had four kids of my own. I had previously tried sales with eight other companies, and I was very hesitant. Before R+F, I had never been part of a company that had both an awesome business structure and fantastic products. But I fell in love with these products the first time I used them! I saw instant results, and I picked up the phone and called everyone I knew. ”

Becoming an Independent Consultant in February of 2012, Jessica hit the ground running with her business, working around 10 hours a week, and became a Level V Circle Achiever in a short time with lots of persistence. Taking full advantage of her early success, Jessica decided to make the next step. “Four months after starting with R+F, I left my teaching position to work wholeheartedly on my Rodan + Fields business, and finally gained more time freedom to do things I love with people I love.”

Living her “someday when” dream

Since her success with Rodan + Fields, much of Jessica’s time and effort has gone toward pursuing volunteer trips for herself and her children. Her two oldest children were able to carry out volunteer work in the Dominican Republic this past summer and Jessica recently completed a humanitarian trip to Sierra Leone with The Raining Season—an organization founded by Jason and Erica Rust, fellow Rodan + Fields Independent Consultants.

“My family has been sponsoring a family of four for about a year now, and I was able to go to the center and meet them. I thought that I was going to touch their lives, but instead they touched mine. That’s truly my ‘why.’ I work this business every single day so that I can continue these trips. Without R+F I would not have even heard of The Raining Season. The connections that I’ve made through this business will last a lifetime.”

A culture of giving

Jessica has shared her passion with Team Lead and encourages generosity within her Rodan + Fields community. “Our Company has a huge background in giving back, and that really resonates with me. We’ve adopted this inspiration into our team culture. Each month I let my team members choose a charity for us to give to. It’s been really cool for me to build a team culture of giving back.”

Jessica was most excited when she discovered that she was still able to coach and teach within her R+F career. “My passion has always been teaching, but with Rodan + Fields I realized that it wasn’t just elementary students that I enjoyed. I love working really hard with my team members and helping them reach their goals. I don’t know if it comes from coaching for so many years, but we really do have an exceptional team where everybody brings something different to the table. The supportive culture that I’ve built is probably the thing that I’m most proud of.”

Looking forward with gratitude

Jessica also celebrates the huge difference R+F has made in her own life. “My goal was never to be an RFX Circle Achiever, to be honest, because I didn’t think it was possible. But this business has given me newfound confidence as a leader and a teacher and allowed me to make a positive difference in others’ lives. Most importantly, it has also allowed me to spend more time with my family and children. Before R+F I had to work my family around my job—but now I can work my job around my family.”

Jessica continues to live her “someday when” dream and plans to help her team members do the same. “I loved being a teacher, but I was not able to give like I wanted to give or serve like I wanted to serve. There are so many people who are less fortunate than us, and I devote my work to them.” Jessica’s advice to those working toward their goals is to “put your whole heart into it and never give up, because there’s no limit on what you can do!”
